Natural Weight Loss Protocol

 

Nutritional Recommendations for Weight Loss:

  • Eat a light breakfast
  • Cut the simple carbs to regulate blood sugar levels more efficiently (low glycemic load) – i.e. no white stuff…sugar, white bread
  • Eat smaller more frequent meals
  • Consume more quality fats, reduce fat overall to 20% of diet
  • Drink more water
  • Avoid possible food allergens
  • Increase fiber intake
  • Reduce or eliminate alcohol
  • No ‘diet’ stuff – For example. diet soda can actually increase the fat on your body!
  • Eat more protein
  • Eat less processed food (eliminate trans fats…including partially hyrdogenated anything!
  • Only eat when you are truly hungry

Fiber: At least 25-35g Daily

  • Pulls dietary fat from the body
  • Stabilizes blood sugar levels
  • Has little caloric value because cannot be absorbed
  • Contributes to feelings of fullness
  • Creates bulk in the stool for regularity

Vitamin B Complex (particularly B6: 200mg)

  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Aids in fat and protein metabolism and the conversion of tryptophan into serotonin which helps control appetite
  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamin): Aids metabolism of carbohydrates
  • Vtamin B3 (Niacin) and Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): Support of adrenal hormones; may increase the rate at which fats and carbohydrates are metabolized
  • Choline: Helps body break down fats
  • Inositol : Assists in metabolizing fats and lowers cholesterol

Chromium Picolinate: 200-400mcg – Regulates blood sugar levels and prevents the conversion of blood sugar into fat

L-Carnitine: Up to 400mg – Brings fat molecules to the mitochondria of the cell so they can be burned for energy instead of stored as fat cells

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA): 3000mg – Provides support to help burn fat and promote lean muscle development

Essential Fatty Acids (particularly Omega-3): 2000-6000mg – Can assist in weight loss by replacing saturated fats in the diet

Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA or Garcinia Cambogia): 50-750mg – Clears fat from liver, helps suppress appetite, slows the rate at which the body converts carbohydrates into fat

Cayenne Pepper – The main active ingredient in cayenne pepper is capsaicin, which is said to be a “thermogenic chemical” that can help speed metabolism and decrease appetite

Other Thermogenic Herbs (said to increase metabolism)

  • Black Pepper
  • Green Tea

Bromelain: 1500mg 3x Daily – Can maximize metabolism

CoQ-10: 200mg – Turns fat into energy

Licorice Flavonoid Oil: 600mg – Studies have shown that taking at least 300mg daily of Licorice Flavonoid Oil for eight weeks can decrease visceral (abdominal) fat. Results were improved with increased amounts (up to 600mg).

Relora®: 750mg – Relora helps maintain healthy levels of stress hormones and acts as an aid in controlling weight and stress related eating.

Ashwagandha – Ashwagandha may help support healthy weight management by inhibiting stress responses that can lead to overeating and cause increases in cortisol that can equate to excessive abdominal fat.

5HTP: 50-100mg (before meals) – 5HTP is a neurotransmitter that is a precursor to serotonin, which plays a role in appetite regulation and managing compulsive behaviors.

Coleus Forskohlii: 25mg 2x Daily – Studies have shown that coleus stimulates fat metabolism for those with reduced Cyclic AMP production; many obese people have lower than normal Cyclic AMP production.

D-Ribose: 1500-5000mg – D-Ribose is thought to promote the recovery of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the primary energy carrying molecule, levels within the body.

Guggulsterone: 75mg – Guggul shows promise for weight loss due to its ability to stimulate thyroid hormone production. One of the components of guggul, guggulsterone, is a natural steroid complex that is responsible for the thyroid effect.

Mulberry Extract: 3750mg (before meals) – Mulberry Zuccarin is an extract of the mulberry leaf, which mimics sugar. This may fool the body into allowing sugar to be passed through the intestines without being absorbed as glucose, which can keep calories from being absorbed by the body.

Irvingia: 300mg – An extract from a West African plant, Irvingia has been shown to help maintain healthy body weight by promoting the breakdown of fat, promoting hormones that support healthy blood glucose levels and cardiovascular health, reducing the conversion of sugar into fat and reducing carbohydrate absorption.

DHEA: 200mg – Shown to safely increase thermogenesis, improve fat loss, and help maintain healthy body weight.
